Kalaloch, at sunset.
By this time, about everybody was back in the tent taking care of the business of partying.
Gabrielle & Eric came all the way from West Virginia to marry about as far west
as they could get, Rialto Beach & out the jetty. In a week on the peninsula they
saw more of it than most of us residents have ever seen. They really need to
move here.
Sometimes, I think the toasts are the most important part of the whole wedding. Here, they're telling the stories of their life together, what they've been through together. I look around the room & I see people crying, & then laughing harder than they've laughed all year. Tears of laughter, tears of joy. Honest stuff, in front of everyone. Real stuff.
Margo & Neil's wedding was at a cabin on Coyle Peninsula. Think 150 or so people, no electricity.
Bunch of them went for a swim.
Leaving.
We've seen rice, ( a rarity), birdseed (often), bubbles that work & bubbles that blow right back into people's faces, sparklers that have usually burned out before the couple comes down the aisle, candles, etc. Leah & Steve gave everybody bubbles -- no match for the canned string.
